Stephanie Eva (Szetela) Cebula, 101, of Lowell, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell.
She was married for 56 years to the late Roman A. Cebula who died April 1, 1984.
She was the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Antonina Szatela. She was raised and educated in Lowell.
She was employed over the years with several of the historic Woolen Mills in the greater Lowell area the last being J.P. Stevens until it closed. The Lowell Hilton was her last place of employment, where she was chosen Employee of the Month. Stephanie remained with the hotel until their closure, forcing her retirement.
She was a devoted communicant of the Holy Trinity Polish Church of Lowell.
Stephanie was an avid gardener, but was especially happy spending time with her ten cherished grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen A. Pevey of N. Chelmsford, and Mary G. Bates of Lowell, a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond A. and Marlene Z. Cebula of Dracut, a sister, Anne Fazio of Methuen, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Stanley Szetela of Arizona, Mitchell Szetela of Dracut, and Joseph Szetela of Lowell.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Visiting hours Wednesday 3 to 7PM. Funeral Thursday at 9AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 10AM at Holy Trinity Polish Church in Lowell. Burial in Holy Trinity Polish Cemetery, Lowell. Memorials may be made in her name to the Mass. Lions Eye Research C/o PDG William T. Murphy P.O.
