Dorothea (Foley) Dumont

Dorothea E. (Foley) Dumont of Dunstable, Ma died Monday April 6, 2009 at the Westford House Nursing Home in Westford, Ma with her family by her side.

She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald J. Dumont who died September 28, 2004. Born in Boston, Ma on Oct. 7, 1920, the daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth (Milley) Foley. She was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School with the class of 1939.
She worked for the New England Telephone Company on Milk Street in Boston until 1944.

In 1945 Dorothea moved to Dunstable with her infant daughter to be with her husband’s family during his captivity as a prisoner of war. She settled in Dunstable with her husband Gerald where she devoted her life to her family. Dorothea had a gift of kindness that touched those who shared her friendship. She was a lifetime Charter Member of the Ex- Prisoners of War Auxiliary, Mass Chapter #1, lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary National Unit and honorable Gold Star Wife. She was a communicant of St. Johns the evangelist Church in Chelmsford Ma.

She is survived by her children, Geraldine Courtemarche and her husband Louis of Dracut Ma, Roger Dumont and his wife Pat of Dunstable, Ma, Janet Erickson of Nashua, NH, Joseph Dumont and his wife Chris of Littleton, Ma, Thomas Dumont and his wife Karen of Dunstable, Ma John Dumont and his wife Diane of Dunstable, Ma, and her sister, Irene Joseph and her husband Arthur of Dedham, Ma.

She will be deeply missed by her devoted grand daughter Katie, fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren many nephews, nieces and friends.

She was the sister of the late Albert Foley, and sister in law of the late Dorothy Foley, Armand Dumont, Lionel Dumont, Bernice Dumont, Geraldine Dumont, Lucile Dumont, Rita Belley, Clifton Laporte and Lorraine and Raymond Neault.

DUMONT, Dorothea E. (Foley) Dumont of Dunstable died April 6, 2009. At Dorothea’s request a private ceremony will be held, and in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Catholic TV, c/o Father Reed, P.O.
