 Mr.
Henry A. LaBelle, 88, a resident of N. Chelmsford for over 60 years,
died peacefully Sunday, April 19, 2009 surrounded by his loving family.
He was married to Gertrude T. (Gervais) LaBelle, with whom he celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on August 24, 2008.
Born
in Lowell, MA on June 18, 1920, he was the son of the late Joseph and
Annie (LaFrance) LaBelle. Raised in Lowell, he was a graduate of
Lowell High School.
He served in the US Army Air Corp. during WWII in Panama as a Corporal.
He
retired from Sanders Associates in Nashua, NH. Mr. LaBelle was a
member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks, and the American Legion A.W.
Vinal Post 313 of N. Chelmsford, MA.
In his younger years, Mr.
LaBelle coached Little League and Babe Ruth at Shedd Park in
Lowell. Mr. LaBelle was an avid bowler, and bowled on the Senior
League at Brunswick Lanes in Lowell for many years. He also enjoyed
vegetable gardening and watching basketball and baseball.
He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church of N. Chelmsford.
He
is survived by his loving wife Gertrude, two daughters and
son’s-in-law, Barbara Drew and Larry Johnson and Doris Spellissy and
her husband Kevin, all of N. Chelmsford; a sister, Anne Landry of
Nashua, NH; five grandchildren, Barry Drew of Dracut, MA, Jean Savvas
of Bradford, MA, Sharon Taylor of Lowell, MA, and Jaime Loiselle and
Carl Johnson both of N. Chelmsford, MA; and 3 great grandchildren,
Cassidy Moore, and Katrina and Jake Savvas.
He was predeceased
by his daughter, Patricia J. Loiselle who died March 6, 1983; two
brothers, Edward and Raymond, and a sister; Rita Cassidy.

Mass at 9 a.m. at St. John’s Church in N. Chelmsford. Burial in the
