Gerard J. Scannell “Jerry”, 76, a resident of Nashua, NH formerly of Chelmsford,
MA and Mission Hill, passed away on Wednesday, April 23rd. He was a loving
husband for 53 years to Mary (Roche) Scannell. Born in Boston, on April 24,
1932; he was the son of Mildred (Wenger) and James Scannell.
In addition to his wife Mary, he was a devoted father
and will be greatly missed by his family of seven children; Karen Jenkins and
Ralph Jenkins, Stephen and Joecy Scannell, Paul and Deborah Scannell, Nancy and
Fernando Oliveira, Gerard D. and Mary Scannell, John and Joanie Scannell and
Kathy and Russell Russo. Loved being Papa to his 13 grandchildren; Michael,
Meghan & Kayla Jenkins, Lauren, Jennifer and Gillian Scannell, Gabriella, Brian
and Dennis Scannell, Kaitlin and Patrick Scannell, Kevin and Jack Russo.
Survived by brothers James Scannell of West Roxbury,
MA and Robert Scannell of Milton, MA, sister Mary Baxter of Mashpee, MA, and
cousin of Bishop Joseph Maguire, Springfield MA. Predeceased by his sister,
Virginia Mcdonald, and brother Joseph Scannell, Nephew of Reverend Joseph
Scannell C.S.S.R, Dennis Scannell C.S.S.R and Reverend Jeremiah Scannell C.S.S.R.
He served in the United States Marine Corp during the
Korean Conflict as a Sergeant. He worked for the New England Telephone Company
for 40 years as Sales Manager for the New England territory and achieved many
awards for his outstanding performances.
His favorite past time was playing golf, traveling and
spending time with his family.
