 Mr. Brian A. Blackburn, age 64, of North
Chelmsford, MA, died August 2, 2008 in Boston, MA, at Massachusetts
General Hospital.
He was married to Mrs. M. Joyce (Buckley) Blackburn with whom he would
have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on October 9,
2008.
Brian was born in Lowell, MA on November 4, 1943, the son of the late
Ernest and Pearl (Methey) Blackburn. He was a graduate of Lowell High
School with the class of 1962, and received his B.A. in Early Childhood
Education, from Lowell State Teacher’s College.
He taught 6th grade at the McCarthy Middle School, until his retirement
in 2005. Since his retirement, he had been working with Chelmsford
Community Education with its day care and summer school programs.
He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford.
He was a member, past Exalted Ruler and past District Deputy of
Lowell Lodge of Elks. Brian was also active with the
Chelmsford Youth Soccer Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Brian J.
Blackburn, Kyle and his wife Kristen Blackburn all of Boston, MA, Keith
and Shawn Blackburn both of N. Chelmsford, MA, and three
brothers-in-law and their wives, Brian and Marlene Buckley, Gary and
Ruth Buckley all of Lowell, MA, and Kevin and Donna Buckley of
Merrimac, MA. Brian is also survived by a grandson, Lucas M.
Blackburn of Boston, MA, as well as many nieces, nephews and close
friends.

2, 2008. Visiting hours Wed. 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Thurs. at
8AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a
funeral Mass at 9AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford,
MA. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Memorials may
be made in his name to the Joslin Diabetes Center C/O Development
