
Mr. Raymond David Blanchette, 79, of Lowell died Tuesday
December 5, 2006 after a long illness.
He was the husband of Patricia
(Drew) Blanchette with whom he would have celebrated
their 32nd wedding anniversary on Dec. 27.
Born in Dracut, MA on January 3,
1927, the son of the late Tancrede and Emma (LaVasseur)
Blanchette. He was raised in Lowell and graduated from
St. Joseph’s High School.
He served during World War II in
the US Navy aboard the USS Akutan, attaining the rank of
F2c.
Mr. Blanchette was a
Supervisor at Raytheon Corp. for over 38 years before
retiring in 1989.
He was a communicant of
St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford.
He was
a member and past chaplain of the American Legion Post
#247 and member of Passe Temp. Club of Lowell. He was a
Life Member of Post #4 Franco-American Veterans Club.
Besides his wife, he is
survived by three sons and three daughters in-law,
Norman and Pam Blanchette of N. Chelmsford, Adam
Blanchette, MD and Karen Blanchette of Pearland, TX,
Scott and Gisella Blanchette of Lowell, MA; three
daughters and three sons in-law, Dianne and Lawrence
Brian Cahill of Columbia, SC, Priscilla and Russell
Silveira of Billerica, MA, Donna and Rick Webb of
Swanzey, NH; a brother, Marcel Blanchette of Dracut, MA;
a sister, Pauline Spanos of Lincoln, NH; two sisters
in-law, Pauline Blanchette of Nashua, NH and Monique
Blanchette of Dracut, MA; 10 grandchildren, 2 great
grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two
brothers, Paul Blanchette of Lowell who died in 1989 and
Robert Blanchette who died in January of 2006.

CHELMSFORD. Funeral Sat at 12 noon from the funeral home
with a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. in St. John the Evangelist
Church, Chelmsford. Burial in Central Cemetery,
