Mrs. Sarah Marie Devaney
of North Chelmsford, MA died Friday, December 11, 2009 at D’Youville
Senior Care Center, Lowell.
She was married to Robert G. Devaney with whom she celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on April 11, 2009.
Born in Cambridge, MA on February 10, 1935, daughter of the late Dr.
Eugene and Elizabeth Jessica (Reardon) Gorman of Watertown, Massachusetts. She was a graduate of Rosary Academy of Watertown
with the class of 1951 and Regis College of Weston, MA with of Bachelor
of Science in Nutrition with the class of 1955.
In her earlier years, she was employed with Mass General Hospital in
Boston as a registered dietician. Subsequently she dedicated
her life to raising and educating her children.
Sarah was a communicant and active member of St. John’s Church in North
Chelmsford, MA.
Besides her husband, Robert, she is survived by a daughter, Maura
Devaney of Lowell, MA; three sons, Robert E. and his wife, Kimberley
Devaney of Lakewood, CO, Richard J. and his wife, Lara Devaney of
Andover, MA, and Michael J. and his wife, Kathy Devaney of Watertown,
MA; nine grandchildren, Carolyn and her husband, Jake Ingraham,
Christine, Mary, Robert, Thomas, Katherine, Matthew, Aislin, and
Christopher Devaney, one great grand daughter Emmi Jean Ingraham.

Devaney, Sarah Marie of Chelmsford, MA died December 11, 2009. Visiting
hours Monday, December 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Tuesday at 10 AM
from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a
funeral Mass at 11 AM at St. John’s Church in North Chelmsford, MA.
Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA. Memorials may be
made in her name to the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center, 295
