Obituary for

John J. Guilmette

of Chelmsford

 
John J. Guilmette, 88, of Chelmsford died Tuesday, December 1, 2009.
   
He was married to the late Loretta (Wasylak) Guilmette who died March 2006.
     
Born in Chelmsford, MA on June 26, 1921, the son of the late Alfred and Marie (Maheu) Guilmette. He attended the Chelmsford school system.
   
During World War II, he served in the Army in the Pacific Theatre for 33 months with the Engineer Special Battlion. 
   
He owned and operated the Guilmette Bros. Granite Quarry in North Chelmsford with his brothers for many years. He also owned and operated A. Guilmette & Sons Concrete Products and Alpine Express with his brothers, George and Louie.
   
He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford. He was a founding member of the Fletcher Club and a life member of the Tyngsboro Sportsman Club.
   
He is survived by a daughter, Katherine Guilmette of Hudson, NH; two sons and a daughter in-law, John Guilmette, Alfred and Sheila (Gagnon) Guilmette all of N. Chelmsford, MA, a brother, George Guilmette of N. Chelmsford; 4 grandchildren, Andy, Kevin, John, and Jessica Guilmette, 2 great grandsons, Wayne and Matthew; many nieces and nephews.
   
He was predeceased by a daughter in-law, Betty (Day) Guilmette; 3 sisters, Florida, Vitale, Louise Lemire and Eva Estabrook; 3 brothers, Pete, Ernie and Louie Guilmette.

FUNERAL NOTICE

GUILMETTE, John J. Guilmette of N. Chelmsford died December 1, 2009. There are no visiting hours. His funeral Mass will be Monday Dec. 7, 2009 at 9:00 am at the St. John the Evangelist Church, Chelmsford. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell.
