Mary “Kathy” (Poirier) Hanson,
56, died unexpectedly Wed. December 16, 2009 at her home.
Born in Lowell, MA on January 4,1953, she was the daughter of the late
Walter H. and Mary Frances (Parker) Poirier.
A resident of Chelmsford most of her life, Kathy graduated from
Chelmsford High School with the Class of 1971.She graduated from Tufts
Dental School.
In her early years, Kathy worked as a dental technician. Later she
worked at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA.
She is survived by two sons, Gary and his wife, Danielle Hanson of
Townsend, MA and Michael Hanson of Lowell, MA; a brother, Walter R. and
his wife, Sheila Poirier of Lowell, MA; a nephew, Chris Poirier; a
niece, Danielle and her husband, Dave Bonczar. She is also survived by
her former husband, Paul Hanson of Lowell, MA. She was also the aunt of
Peace Corp. Volunteer, Walter J. Poirier, who disappeared while serving
with Peace Corps in Bolivia in 2001.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Hanson, Mary “Kathy” (Poirier) Hanson,56, of Chelmsford, MA died Dec.
16, 2009. No visiting hours. A funeral mass will be held
Monday at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, North Rd., Chelmsford,
MA. Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA.
