Obituary for

Carl Lebedzinski

Life-long resident of North Chelmsford

 
Carl Lebedzinski of No. Chelmsford, MA, died Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell after a five year battle with kidney cancer.
    
He is survived by his wife, Anna (Nosek) Lebedzinski, with whom he recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.
    
Born in North Chelmsford, MA, on November 5, 1917, he was the son of the late Michael and Maryann (Seroka) Lebedzinski.  He graduated from Chelmsford High School (CHS) in 1935.

Carl served with the U.S. Army during World War II and received several honors including the Philippine Independence Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.  He was honorably discharged as a Technician Fourth Grade in October of 1946.
 
In his early years Carl was a knotting machine operator and garment cutter in various Lowell textile mills; he spent 26 years as a Correctional Officer at MCI Concord until his retirement in 1982.

Carl was a faithful and life-long communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in No. Chelmsford.

He served as a Representative on the Chelmsford Veterans’ Committee and was the Class Agent for CHS Class of 1935. Carl loved watching and feeding the birds in his back yard, playing his harmonica, and spending quality time with his family.
 
Besides his loving wife, Anna, he is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law:  Barbara and Philip Fraterrigo, M.D., of Albany, NY; Carol Ann and Lt. Col. (retired) John Milewski of Burke, VA; Nancy Lebedzinski of Pepperell, MA; and Karen and Donald Clement of Townsend, MA.  Carl has eleven cherished grandchildren: Philip Fraterrigo, M.D., Michael Fraterrigo, David Fraterrigo, Lynn Boler, M.D., and Kerri-Ann Fraterrigo, M.D.; Leanne Milewski and Cheryl Milewski; and Derek Clement, Kara Clement, Carla Clement, and Amy Clement. Carl also has nearly nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Anthony Lebedzinski, Anna O’Connor, Margaret Cahill, and Mary Nichols and brother-in-law to the late Frances and Joseph Gorski, Rose and Stanley Olszewski, Elinor and Isadore Nawossa, Helen and Stanley Lipka, and Elizabeth and Reginald Larkin.

Carl’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the wonderful caregivers Dad has had in his time of need.

LEBEDZINSKI, Carl Lebedzinski, of No. Chelmsford, MA, died December 24, 2009. Visiting hours Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Funeral Monday, 10:00 a.m. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., NO. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Church in No. Chelmsford. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Gorham St., Lowell.
