 Mr. Richard “Chowda” E. Carkin of N. Chelmsford died
early Saturday morning, February 2, 2008 at Lowell
General Hospital in Lowell, MA.Born in
Lowell, MA on September 7, 1959, the son of the late Lee
and Wanda (Jordan) Carkin. He was a graduate of
Chelmsford High School with the class of 1978.
He was
employed with the Chelmsford Highway Department, and
previously with the Chelmsford Water District, where he
became well known.
He was
a member of Chelmsford Fun Committee. He loved riding
his Harley Davidson with his biker crew spending time in
“Chowda’s den”, and taking his family out to Texas
Roadhouse.
He was
the loving husband of Jo-Ellen (Clark) Carkin and would
have been celebrating their 26th wedding
anniversary on April 25, 2008.
Along
with his wife, he was the loving father of Danielle
Marie Carkin at Daniel Webster College, and Nicholas Lee
Carkin a junior at Chelmsford High School. He is also
survived by a sister, Roberta and her husband Kevin
Dufresne of Washington, ME, his special nephew Justin
Foley of Hudson, NH, along with many other nieces and
nephews, and his many friends, including Joe Eriksen and
Paul Cooper, and his Rottie Roxiegrand kitty, Pepper.
