 Mr. Richard H.
Donovan of Lowell, MA died February 8, 2009 at his home.
He was married to the late Mrs. Mary (Kelliher) Donovan who died
December 2003.
Richard was born in Medford, MA, on June 25, 1918, the son of the late
Daniel and Catherine (Barry) Donovan. He was a graduate of
Medford High School with the class of 1936. He graduated from
Boston College with a Bachelor in Science in Business Management in
1941, and a Master’s degree in Business from Northeastern with the
class of 1966.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He retired in 1988 from Lucent Technologies of N. Andover, MA.
He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church of Lowell.
He was an avid golfer.
He is survived by a son, Robert E. and his wife, Lisa Donovan of
Waltham, three daughters, Mary E. Donovan of Concord, MA, Catherine and
her husband Charles Debus of Los Angeles, CA, and Jean S. Prieto of
Lowell, MA, and a son-in-law, Michael R. Bourk of Pelham, NH.
Richard is also survived by four grandchildren, James and John Bourk
and Joseph and Sondra Prieto as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Patricia A. Bourk of Dracut, who died May
14, 1996, and the late Richard H. Donovan, Jr. of Lowell, MA who died
September 29, 2008.
FUNERAL NOTICE
DONOVAN, Richard H. Donovan of Lowell, died February 8, 2009. Visiting
hours Fri. 6 to 8 p.m at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST.
CHELMSFORD. The Funeral Mass will be Sat. at 9:30AM at St.
Margaret Church in Lowell. Burial in the Bourne National Cemetery,
Bourne, MA. In lieu of Flowers, Donations can be made to
