 William “Bill”
Hampton Jr., 86, of Dunstable, Ma died Monday February 9, 2009 at the
Greenbriar Terrace Nursing Home in Nashua, NH.
He was married to the late Lillian (Harmon) Hampton who died June 1,
2008.
Born in Somerville, MA on September 17, 1922, the son of the late
William Sr. and Florence (Marshall) Hampton. He graduated
from Arlington High School with the Class of 1941 and earned his
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering at U. Mass at Amherst
with the Class of 1950.
During World War II, he served with the US Army.
Bill worked as a civil engineer at MacDavitt Construction Company for
many years. After his retirement, Bill drove trucks.
He was a former selectman for the Town of Dunstable during the 1960’s.
He enjoyed traveling across the country. He was a 33Rd Degree Mason in
the Simon W. Robinson Masonic Lodge in Lexington, MA.
He was a member of the Dunstable Congregational Church.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Carpenter of Dunstable; a nephew,
Bradford and his wife Heidi Page of Deering, NH; grandniece Erin Page
of Nashua, NH; grandnephew, Christian Page of Deering, NH; two brothers
in-law and a sister in-law, Kenneth Harmon, Victor and Glenice Harmon
all of Windham, NH
He was predeceased by his brother Robert Hampton.
HAMPTON, William “Bill” Hampton Jr. of Dunstable, MA died Feb. 9, 2009.
There are no Visiting hours. Memorial Service will be Saturday Feb. 14,
2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 Middlesex St.
Chelmsford, MA. Cremation at Merrimack Crematory. Burial will be in the
Central Cemetery in Dunstable at a later date. ARRANGEMENTS
