Mrs. Elaine Dorothy (Gagnon)
Hanscom, a lifelong resident of North Chelmsford, died Saturday
morning, February 13, 2010 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to the late Mr. Peter E. Hanscom who passed away May 5,
2005.
Born in North Chelmsford on November 5, 1942, the daughter of the late
Emery J. and Jeannette A. (Dunn) Gagnon. She was a graduate
of Chelmsford High School with the class of 1961.
She was employed as an Analyst with the Raytheon Company in Andover for
more than 30 years. Following her retirement, Elaine worked part time
at Macy’s Department store in Nashua.
She was a faithful communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church of N.
Chelmsford.
Elaine enjoyed knitting and traveling, especially to Florida visiting
Disney World.
She also enjoyed tending her vegetable and flower gardens, but was most
happy spending quality time with family, friends, and neighbors.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jason P. and Kim
(Sandberg) Hanscom of N. Chelmsford, two brothers and their wives,
Leonard and Anne Gagnon of Lowell, Robert R. and Bette Lee Gagnon of
Chelmsford, a sister, Bonnie F. Hehir of Chelmsford, a sister-in-law
and her husband, Marjorie A. and Russell Hay of Hawthorne, Florida, two
step-daughters and their husbands, Beth M. and Gregory Lemnah of
Lyndon, VT, Stacey S. and David Whaley of Northfield, VT, four
grandchildren, Greer and Robert Lemnah of Lyndon, VT, William and Sarah
Whaley of Northfield, VT, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins,
dear family friends, and close neighbors.

Hanscom, Elaine D. (Gagnon) Hanscom a Lifelong resident of North
Chelmsford, died February 13, 2010. Visiting hours Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6
to 8 p.m. Funeral Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106
MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. John’s
Church, N. Chelmsford. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, N. Chelmsford.
Memorials may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice.
