 Mrs. Merlotte
Hilaire of Salem, MA died Friday morning, January 30, 2009 at the
Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, MA.
Merlotte was born in Haiti on October 25, 1922, the daughter of the
late Cereste and Idalie (Pierré) Hilaire. She graduated High
School in Haiti.
She raised her family with love and devotion.
She was an active communicant of St. Mary Church of Lynn, MA, where she
enjoyed reading the bible and reciting the rosary.
Merlotte enjoyed sewing.
She is survived by four daughters, Carolle Hilaire-Dejean and Guirlene
“Marie” Hilaire-Berthaud both of Salem, MA, Armelle Nelson of Ft.
Lauderdale, FL, and Margarette Hilaire of N. Chelmsford, MA, a son
Herbert Dejean of Port Lucie, FL, and 12 grandchildren, Edwin Pierre,
Morva, Medjine, and Fritzgerald Hilaire, Rosha and Bria DeJean,
Sahadia, Frantz and Christina Berthaud, Stephanie Nelson, and Geoffrey
and Maghan Baptiste, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Eric and Patrick Hilaire, and the
grandmother of the late Marvin Joseph.
FUNERAL NOTICE
HILAIRE, Ms. Merlotte Hilaire of Salem, MA died Jan. 30, 2009. Visiting
hours Fri. 4 to 8 p.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST.
CHELMSFORD, MA. Funeral Mass Sat. at 10AM at St. Mary Church
in Lynn. Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
