Joan M. Lapointe, 52, a life-long
resident of Lowell, MA died early Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Beth
Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA after a lifetime struggle with
Diabetes and kidney disease.
Joan was born in Lowell, MA on February 2, 1958, the daughter of
Bernadette “Bootsie” (Kelleher) Drescher of Lowell, MA and the late
John Drescher. She was a graduate of Keith Hall with the
class of 1976.
Joan retired in 1998 from the Westford Post Office.
She was a communicant of St. Margaret Church of Lowell, MA.
Joan loved spending time with her family and friends. She
enjoyed going to the beach, boat rides on the Merrimack River, and
playing Bingo at the Lowell Elks.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her loving companion, Richard
Spinney of Lowell, MA, a daughter, Courtney Zappelli of Chelmsford, MA,
a son, Marc Zappelli of Pepperell, MA, two sisters, Marybeth and her
husband, Roger Sweeney of Nashua, NH, and Donna and her husband,
William Butt of Dracut, MA, two nephews, William and Shawn Butt both of
Dracut, MA, three aunts, Dorothy and her husband, Ralph Markee of
Andover, MA, Mary and Rita Kelleher both of Lowell, MA, and her former
husband, Kevin Zappelli of Pepperell, MA. Joan is also
survived by many cousins, and several close friends.

FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at
9:30AM at St. Margaret Church in Lowell, MA. Burial in St. Patrick
