Karan A. Marchand

Of Westford


Karan A. Marchand, 56, of Westford,MA died Sunday Feb. 1, 2009 at the Saints Medical Center in Lowell, MA after a lengthy illness.

Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of Helen (Chaisson) Marchand of Westford and the late Maurice “Moe” Marchand Sr. who died Feb. 9, 2006.

A long time resident of Westford, Karan was educated in the Westford School system and graduated from Westford Academy with the class of 1970. She earned her Bachelor of Art degree in History from Salem State College and graduated with the Class of 1974.

Karan worked for more than 33 years as a Payroll Technician with Boston-Arkright Insurance Co. in Waltham, MA which later merged with FM Global in Johnston, RI.

She loved cooking, traveling, reading and theatre. In her younger years, she played clarinet with her high school and college bands and orchestras.

She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford.

Besides her mother, She is survived by her sister, Janis (Marchand) Beauregard of Shirley, MA; her sister in-law, Niki (DeSisto) Marchand of Hollis, NH; a niece, Sheryl (Beauregard) Delaney of Madison, NY; a great nephew, CJ Delaney, currently serving with the US Army in Iraq; a great niece, Keri Delaney of Madison, NY; many aunts and cousins.

She was the sister of the late Maurice Marchand Jr. of Hollis, NH who died in 2003.

MARCHAND, Karan A. Marchand of Westford, MA died Feb. 1, 2009 in Lowell. Visiting hours Thurs. 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, MA. Funeral Friday at 10:00a.m. from the Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church 115 Middlesex St. N. Chelmsford, MA. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
