Miss Mary Lydia
Mercier a life long resident of North Chelmsford died Saturday evening,
February 28, 2009.
Born in North Chelmsford on September 15, 1914, the daughter of the
late William and Cea (Provencher) Mercier. She was raised in
North Chelmsford and attended Chelmsford Schools.
She was employed in her early years with Frost Drug Store in North
Chelmsford, and McGreevy’s Drug Store in Lowell, and most recently at
CVS in Lowell until her retirement in 1996.
She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in North
Chelmsford.
She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Mercier of Chelmsford, three
nieces and their spouses, Janet and George Georges of Nashua, NH,
Elizabeth and Brian Cahill of North Chelmsford, Judith and Allen
Killeen of Kittery, ME, many nieces and nephews, as well as several
close family friends.
She was the aunt of the late Eugene Altemus of North Chelmsford who
died in 1990. A private Funeral Service was held for the family, burial
followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Guestbook at
