Obituary for

Omer Roland Moreau

of Lowell, MA

 
Mr. Omer Roland Moreau of Lowell, MA died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Lowell General Hospital.

He was married to Mrs. Rita C. (Dufault) Moreau whom he would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2010.
    
Born in Dracut, MA on May 1, 1914, the son of the late Simon and Anna (Coulombe) Moreau.  He attended Lowell Public Schools.

Mr. Moreau served with the U.S. Navy during WWII on board an aircraft carrier in the Pacific Theatre and was honorably discharged in February of 1946.

He was the owner and operator of his own finish carpentry business in Lowell.

He was a former communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church of Lowell, where he was also a member of the Church’s Sacred Heart Guard.
He was a devoted family man who enjoyed gardening and reading.

Besides his loving wife, Rita, he is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Constance G. and William R. Denoncourt of Andover, Claudette M. and Roland Gosselin of Pepperell, six grandchildren and their spouses, William and Diane Denoncourt, Jr., James R. and Kimberley Denoncourt, Suzanne and James Cameron, Steven and Donna Gosselin, Daniel and Jill Gosselin, David and Leah Gosselin, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, many nieces, nephews and close family friends.

He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Simon Moreau, Armand V. Moreau, Beatrice Goyette, Rita Gagnon, and Antoinette Moreau.
