Ferreira, 88, of Chelmsford, formerly of Woburn died January 18, 2009
at the Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of John C. Ferreira with whom she celebrated their
61st wedding anniversary on April 6th.
Born in Winchester, MA on August 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the
late Lawrence and Mary (Coyne) Welch. She was raised in Woburn and
graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1938.
Over the years she had worked as an inspector at Western Electric of N.
Andover. She retired in 1982. She enjoyed spending time with her
family, children and grandchildren. She loved dogs.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Lowell.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters in-law,
John and Pauline Ferreira Jr. of E. Chelmsford, MA, Larry and Jenine
Ferreira of Chelmsford, MA; a daughter and son in-law, Jacqueline and
Ray Constantineau of E. Chelmsford, MA; a close cousin, Barbara
Rafferty of Woburn, MA; four sisters in-law, Cecelia Ferreira, Mary
Sousa and Viola Ferreira all of E. Chelmsford, Gertrude Ferreira of
Lowell, MA; a brother in-law, Al Melaragni of Woburn, MA; twelve
grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Leona Melaragni and Bea Powers both
of Woburn, MA.

died Jan. 18, 2009 in Lowell. Visiting hours are Thursday from 3:00 to
7:00 p.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. N.CHELMSFORD, MA.
Funeral Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass
at 11:00 in St. Anthony’s Church 893 Central St. Lowell, MA. Burial in
