Glenn
Newell Finnegan, 82, of Bridgewater,
NH
formerly of Westford,
MA
died Tuesday night, January 13, 2009 at the Community
Hospice House in Merrimack, NH after a
long illness.
He
was married to Barbara (Brown) Finnegan
with whom he would have celebrated their 55th
wedding anniversary on
January 16th.
Glenn
was born in Lowell,
Mass.
on Aug. 17, 1926 the son of the late James E. and Marion I. (Jones)
Finnegan.
He
graduated from Lawrence
Academy
High
School in Groton, MA
with the class of 1946.
A resident of
Westford for many years, He
worked as a Conductor for the Boston & Maine Railroad and the
Amtrak
Railroad over forty-one years retiring in 1988. After his retirement,
He and
his wife enjoyed the winters in Edgewater,
FL
and the summers in Newfound Lake, New Hampshire.
He was a member of West
Chelmsford
Methodist
Church
and a member of the United
Transportation Unit local 898 in Boston.
Besides his wife he
is survived by
a son, Glenn A. and his wife Karen (Hughey) Finnegan of Bridgewater,
NH; a
daughter, Leigh A. and her husband Christopher Richards of Hudson, NH;
a
brother, Blair E. Finnegan of Chelmsford; a sister in-law, Mrs. Ernest
(Dorothy) L'Hussier of Westford; and four grandchildren, Shawna, and
Evan
Finnegan, Conner and Kelsey Richards.
