Obituary for

Russell Greenhalgh

of Lowell

Russell Greenhalgh, 80, of Lowell, MA died Sunday January 4, 2009 at the Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Tewksbury, MA on Sept. 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Enoch and Margaret (Berry) Greenhalgh. He was raised in Tewksbury and attended the Tewksbury School System.
 
Russell served in the US Navy during WW II earning the Rank of Ensign. Over the years he worked at Dupont and retired from Hood.

He later worked at the Highland Tap.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 87 and the VFW Post 662 both of Lowell. He enjoyed Golf and Bowling.

He is survived by his long time companion, Phyllis Lutkus of Lowell; four sons, Russell, Michael, Danny and Barry Greenhalgh; his extended family, Beverly McPhillips and her husband, Dennis Pare, Tammy and her husband Philip Coppola, Ronald, Gary, Gerry and Michael Lutkus;  many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by a stepson, Alvin Lutkus Jr.

GREENHALGH, Russell, 80, of Lowell, MA, died Jan. 4, 2009. There are No Visiting hours. Funeral Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST.
