 Virginia M. (McCann)
Johnson, 82, of Lowell, MA died late Sunday night, January 25, 2009 at
D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell.
She was married to the late Edmund Johnson who died May 11, 1994 after
45 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell, MA on April 9, 1926, the daughter of the late James and
Margaret (Wall) McCann. She attended Notre Dame Academy in
Tyngsboro, MA.
In her early years Virginia worked a CR Bard, Inc. in Billerica. She
was a life long resident of Lowell.
She is survived by five daughters and their husbands, Margaret (Margo)
Maloney of Dracut, MA, Mary Alyce and Bruce Kauppila of Lowell,
Virginia and Carl Amero of Salem, NH, Patricia Johnson of Lowell,
Christina and Dennis Goodine of Dracut, MA; a son, Edmund and his wife
Kathleen Johnson III of Methuen, MA, a daughter-in-law, Dawn Johnson of
Dracut, MA, 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two brothers,
James and his wife Ann McCann and Kenneth McCann, and a sister Alice
McCann. Virginia was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Virginia was the mother of the late James Johnson, and was the
mother-in-law to the late Vincent Maloney. She was the sister
of the late Alfred D. and Raymond T. McCann, the late Catherine Dolan,
Elizabeth Caron, Grace Weldon, and Doris Regan.
