 Mr. Edward F. Mulligan of Milford, NH formerly of Lowell, MA died January 2, 2009 at his home.
He
was the husband of Mrs. Marie J. (Rodrigues) Mulligan, with whom he
celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary on October 20,
2008.
Born in
Lowell, MA on May 7, 1925, the son of the late John J. and Maude
(Walters) Mulligan. He was a graduate of Lowell High School with
the class of 1943.
He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy during WW II as a Gunners mate 2nd class on the USS Gregory.
In
his earlier years he worked for the Massachusetts Mohair and Plush
Company of Lowell, MA, and with the New England Telephone Company,
which became NYNEX, until his retirement in 1988 after 35 years of
service.
He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church of Lowell. He was a member of the IBEW Union.
Besides
his wife he is survived by two daughters, Karen and her husband Ronald
Brassard of Nashua, NH, and Sharen and her husband Joseph Valorose of
Midlothian, VA, six sons, Edward F. and his bride, Susan Mulligan, Jr.
of Lowell, MA, John J. and his bride, Sandra Mulligan of Clinton, UT,
Ronald M. Mulligan of Lowell, MA, Kevin B. Mulligan of Lowell, MA,
Thomas A. and his bride, Diana Mulligan of Plymouth, MA, and Wayne A.
and his bride, Kelly Mulligan of Nashua, NH, a sister, Lucia and her
husband Walter Archibald of Turnersville, NJ, a brother, Donald and his
wife Helen (Balkus) Mulligan of Lowell, MA, and 22 grandchildren, and 7
great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
He
was the father of the late Richard V. Mulligan of Lowell, MA who died
May 26, 1975, the late Donald R. Mulligan of Lowell, MA who died May
27, 1987, and the late Raymond P. Mulligan of Lowell, MA, who died Aug.
7, 1996, the late Lowell City Councilman, Grady R. Mulligan of Lowell,
MA, who died October 2002, and brother of the late Ruth Lucier of
Lowell, MA, the late Catherine Lesczyinski of Lowell, MA and the late
Richard Mulligan of Lowell, MA.

2009. Visiting hours Mon. 3 to 6 p.m. Funeral Tues. at 8:30AM at the
DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at
9:30AM at St. Margaret Church, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery,
