Mr. Harold O.
“Mickey” Bell, III of Smethport, PA formerly of Tyngsboro, MA died
Tuesday, July 7, 2009 Bradford Regional Medical Center in Bradford, PA.
He was happily married to Mrs. Joyce E. (Singleton) Bell with whom he
would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on October 7,
2009.
Born in Russellville, AL on November 4, 1945, the son of the late
Harold O. Bell, Jr. and E. Christine (Waldrep) Bell of Tyngsboro,
MA. He was raised and educated in Tyngsboro and was a
graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1964.
He was employed for more than 32 years as a Equipment Installer with
New England Telephone until his retirement in 1995.
He was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Smethport, PA
as well as the All Saints Episcopal Church in Chelmsford, MA.
Mr. Bell was a devoted member and Captain of the Smethport Fire Police
Dept., and member of the Smethport Volunteer Fire Dept., he was a 32
Degree Mason and member of the Pentucket Masonic Lodge in Lowell, the
Aleppo Shriners of Wilmington, MA, Past Patron of Puritan Chapter #54
Order of the Eastern Star in Lowell, Order of the Scottish Rite also in
Lowell, past member of the Tyngsboro Sportsmen’s Club, a 30+ years
volunteer with the Tyngsboro Volunteer Fire Dept. before moving to
Smethport, PA after his retirement.
Besides his loving wife, Joyce and Mother, Christine, he is survived by
a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn E. (Bell) and Donald Stryker of
Tyngsboro, a son, Brian E. Bell and his companion Lisa Carpentier and
her children, Tyler and Ashley all of Derry, NH, six sisters, Sharyn
Bell and her fiancé, Mike Quin, of Glen Burnie, MD, Janice Bell Ridgley
of Cape Coral, FL, Suzanne Dotson and her husband Jeff, of Haymarket,
VA, Beth Bell Lavoie and her husband, Robert, of Windham, NH, Deborah
Lagasse and her husband, Ronald, of Tyngsboro, Lauri Somers and her
husband, Craig, of Lowell, five cherished granddaughters, Amanda
Mascari of Hudson, NH, Andrea Bell and Alison Bell both of Nashua, NH,
Caitlyn Stryker and Alyssa Stryker both of Tyngsboro, two
brothers-in-law, Richard and his wife Lisa Singleton, Donald and his
wife, Audrey Singleton all of Tyngsboro, two sisters-in-law, Dorothy
and her husband, Dennis Lowe of Nashua, NH, Barbara Singleton of
Lowell, former daughter-in-law, Jessica J. Bell of Nashua, NH, as well
as several nieces, nephews and close family friends.
He was the Father of the late Steven D. Bell who died October 14, 1971,
and the brother-in-law of the late James Critchfield of Florida, and
the late Mickey Ridgley of Virginia.

BELL, Harold O. Bell, III of Smethport, PA, formerly of Tyngsboro, MA
died July 7, 2009. Visiting hours Friday 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Saturday
at 10 a.m. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 Middlesex St. N. Chelmsford,
with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church in
Chelmsford. Burial in Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery, Tyngsboro. Memorials
may be made in his name to the Smethport Fire Dept. Nelson St.
