Obituary for

Sarah J. McGeown

of Chelmford

Mrs. Sarah J. (MacDonald) McGeown of Chelmsford, died July 14, 2008 at the Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford.

She was married to the late John Mannix McGeown who died Feb. 26, 2001.    

Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Gillis) MacDonald.  She was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1940.

She was employed with Robert Shaw Controls of Chelmsford until her retirement in 1991.

She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church of North Chelmsford, and a past member of the church’s Blessed Virgin Sodality.

She is survived by four sons, John McGeown of Chelmsford, Stephen McGeown  of Nashua, NH, Peter McGeown of Westford, and Christopher and his wife Nicole (Missio) McGeown of Lexington, MA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia McGeown and Donald Walker of Slingerlands, NY, and Mary McGeown and Robert Conron of Winchester: two brothers, Hugh MacDonald of Hudson, NH and John MacDonald of Norwich, CT; two sisters, Florence Champagne of Groton, CT, Margaret Michaud of Lowell; 10 grandchildren, Jason McGeown of Dracut, Timothy McGeown of Chelmsford, Meaghan McGeown of Hudson, NH, Kristen McGeown of Nashua, NH and Brendan Allen of Chelmsford, Michael McGeown-Walker of Slingerlands, NY, Kelcey and Ryan McGeown-Conron of Winchester, MA, Andrew and Max McGeown of Lexington; a great grandson, Riley Correale of Nashua, NH.

She was the sister of the late Dougal MacDonald and Angus MacDonald of Lowell, the Rev. Sister Mary Jerome, SMSM, of Bedford, MA, Louise Clark of Dracut and Annabel Dunn of Venice, FL.

MCGEOWN, of Chelmsford, died July 14, 2008. Sarah J. (MacDonald) McGeown. Funeral Friday at 8 AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church.
