 Mrs.
Lorraine P. Smith, 67, of N. Chelmsford, MA formerly of Wilmington, MA
died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at her home after a long illness.
Lorraine was born in Lowell, MA on April 17, 1941, the daughter of the
late Clarence Brown and Beatrice (Raimey) Cail. She was a graduate of
Wilmington High School. She graduated from Lawrence Memorial
Hospital School of Nursing of Medford, MA as an LPN, and was then
employed by the hospital.
She was an independent tax preparer, and was a Notary Public.
She also worked for Eric Swanson Financial Marketplace of Stoneham, MA.
Lorraine was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wilmington, MA,
until it’s closing.
She volunteered her time and skills at both the Wilmington and
Tewksbury Senior Citizen Centers. She loved bicycling, bird
watching, boating, and her cottage on Sebago Lake in Maine.
She was an avid gardener.
Lorraine is survived by two daughters, Iris Drummond of N. Chelmsford,
MA, and Heather and her husband Christopher Luce of Hudson, NH, two
sons, Richard D. Smith, Ted Smith and his fiancé, Patricia Proctor all
of Lowell, MA, a brother, Dean Cail of Pahoa, HI, a sister, Wanda and
her husband Paige Palmer of London, Ontario, and her former husband,
Theodore R. Smith of Tewksbury, MA. She is also survived by 7
grandchildren, Christopher Abraham, Sabrina and Nicholas Drummond,
Christopher Shanklin, Alisha, Valerie, and Cori Luce, 3 great
grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Stephanie Jean Smith, a long time
companion of the late Norman C. Smith of Wilmington, MA who died
September 21, 2006, and the sister of the late Tyler, Doug, and Russell
Brown.

ST. CHELMSFORD. Cremation at Merrimack Cremation Service in
Merrimack, NH. Memorials may be made in her name to the
