Obituary for

Margaret Theresa (O'Connor) Battle

of Lowell, MA

Margaret Theresa (O'Connor) Battle, a life long resident of the Swede Village section of Lowell, died on March 17, 2006.

She was the daughter of John and Theresa (Cryan) O'Connor, and the wife of Bernard Battle who died in 1995, and with whom she had been married for fifty years.

During World War II, she was employed by Heinz Electric and after the war, began working as a traffic supervisor at the Butler, Cardinal O'Connor and Shaughnessy Schools in Lowell. She took great pride in her role as a protector of children going to and from school. She ended her working life as an aide at the Shaughnessy School.

A lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish, she was a member and former president of the Holy Rosary Society, a member of the Guild of the Infant Savior and the Massachusetts State and Municipal Employees Association

Mrs. Battle is survived by two sons, Bernard and his wife, June Battle of North Chelmsford, John and his wife, MaryAnn Battle of Pepperell, seven grandchildren, Bernard and his wife, Alison Battle of Seabrook, NH, Michael and his wife Kristen Battle of Bedford, NH, Kim and her husband, Chistopher Lamprom of Hookset, NH, Brian Battle of Manchester, NH, Jill Battle and Jennifer Battle both of Pepperell, MA, four great-grandchildren, Kaelyn and Jaidyn Battle of Seabrook, NH, Mahlia Battle of Bedford, NH, and Alyssa Lampron of Hookset, NH, she is also survived by a brother, Thomas O'Connor and his wife, Helen of Lowell, She was the sister of the late William and John O'Connor and Mary Gavin.

BATTLE, Margaret T. (O'Connor) of Lowell died March 17, 2006. Visiting hours Mon. 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Tues. at 8 AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9 AM at St. Anthony Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell.
