Obituary for

Robert "Bob" M. Benoit

of Lowell

Robert “Bob” Benoit, 68, of Lowell, MA died Sunday March 8, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with Cancer.

He was married to Lorraine (Beauregard) Benoit with whom he would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on April 24th.

Born in Lowell, MA on May 5, 1940, the son of the late Lloyd W. and Irene (Duchaine) Benoit. He was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1957.

During the Vietnam War, Bob served in the U.S. Air Force overseas at the Wheelus Air Force Base in Tripoli, Libya.

Bob was employed for many years at Allied Credit of Nashua, NH until retiring in May of 2006. He previously worked at Jim Witt Pontiac, Buick & GMC of Lowell and Arrow Lift of Tewksbury.

He was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church and St. Michael’s Church in Lowell.
    
He was a member of the Saba’s Cribbage League of Lowell. He was an avid Nascar Fan and enjoyed camping in Woodstock, NH.

Besides his wife, He is survived by a son and daughter in-law, Stephen & Kristin Benoit; two daughters and a son in-law, Christine & Paulo Pedroso, Jennifer Benoit all of Lowell, MA; four grandchildren, Jessica Lee Pedroso, Michael R. Pedroso, Joseph R. Benoit and Jacob R. Benoit; a brother and sister in-law, Gerald and Carol Benoit of Power, MT; five brothers in-law and four sisters in-law, Gerald Andrews of ME, Dennis Beauregard of Lowell, Paul Beauregard of Lowell, Ronald and Denise Arseneault of Lowell, Paulette & Mark Young of Lowell and Jean Beauregard of Merrimack, NH; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Judith Andrews of N. Chelmsford who died April 2006 and a brother in-law, Ronald Beauregard of Merrimack, NH who died in August of 2004.

Funeral Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church Lowell. Cremation at Merrimack Crematory with Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
