Obituary for

Sophie (Kisley) Polubinski

of Chelmsford

Sophie (Kisley) Polubinski, 87, passed away Friday March 27, 2009 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, MA after a long period of declining health.

She was the wife of the Edmund Polubinski who died May 27, 1987 after 43 years of marriage.

Born in Dracut, Ma on September 29, 1921, she was a daughter of the late George and Fedora (Kravic) Kisley. Sophie moved to North Chelmsford when she was a young child. She graduated from Chelmsford High School with the Class of 1939.

Sophie was employed by Sears, Roebuck & Co. as a division manager for over 15 years before retiring in 1976.

She was a member of the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church where she chaired and presided over many committees and clubs. She remained devoted to her church throughout her life.

She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Edmund Jr. and Eleanor (O’Connell) Polubinski; a daughter and son in-law, Sandra and Don Staveley; a brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Estelle Kisley, a sister, Eugenia Kane, six grandchildren, Edmund III, Heather and Jeffrey Polubinski, and Benjamin, Jonathan and Daniel Staveley; and four great- grandchildren, Madeleine and Elizabeth Polubinski, Andrew and Timothy Staveley, many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Sophie was predeceased by her sister Nadia Marple and her brother, Anthony Kisley who died July 28, 2006.

POLUBINSKI- Sophie (Kisley) Polubinski of Chelmsford. There are no visiting hours. 
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church 242 Main St. West Chelmsford, MA.
