Ruth (Knox) (Swett) Wojcik

of North Chelmsford, MA

Mrs. Ruth E. (Knox) (Swett) Wojcik of North Chelmsford died Tuesday March 7, 2006 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.

She was the wife of the late Harold R. Swett who died in 1970 after 30 years of marriage and the late Joseph J. Wojcik who died in 1989 after 15 years of marriage.

Born in Riverdale, Nova Scotia, Canada on December 28, 1918, the daughter of the late Glenwood and Lois (Rhodenhizer) Knox. She grew up in the Worcester area and graduated from the Worcester High School with the class of 1936.

A resident of Chelmsford for over 40 years, she previously had lived in West Boylston and Littleton, MA. Mrs. Wojcik was employed at the Lowell 5 cent Savings Bank in Vinal Square, N. Chelmsford. She started as a teller and retired as the Manager after 17 years. She retired in 1975.

Ruth loved to travel and enjoyed Cape Cod during the summer. She was a member of the Congregational Church of N. Chelmsford where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and financial secretary for several years. She also was a member of the Eastern Star, and member of the Girl Scouts of America Troop 10 in Worcester for over 75 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Anne (Swett) Blair of N. Chelmsford; her son, Andrew Swett and his companion, Jane McMaster of Dover, NH; a brother, Arnold G. Knox of Yarmouthport, MA; 4 grandchildren, Lori Craffey and her husband, Robert of Westford,MA, Tami Spears of N. Chelmsford, Heath A. Swett of Portsmouth Alayna (Swett) Davis and her husband Drew of Dover, NH; 5 great grandchildren, Rebecca, John and Julia Mae Craffey, Nathanial Spears and Ian Davis; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert P. Knox and Chester Knox.

Visiting hours Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 Middlesex St. Chelmsford, MA. Her Funeral Service will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Congregational Church of North Chelmsford 15 Princeton Street North Chelmsford. Burial in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, W. Boylston, MA.
