Obituary for

L. Shirley Berrigan

of North Chelmsford, MA

Mrs. L. Shirley (Guilmette) Berrigan of North Chelmsford, MA died peacefully Friday morning, May 9, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was happily married to Mr. Paul N. Berrigan with whom she would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on September 5, 2008.

Born in Lowell, MA on October 1, 1934, the daughter of the late Ernest and Alice (Albert) Guilmette. She was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Keith Hall School with the class of 1953.

She was employed over the years at Wang Laboratories in Lowell until her retirement in 1987, and as a clerk with the Town of Tyngsboro.

She was an active communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church of North Chelmsford.

She was an avid shopper with her best friend Janet Belanger, but was most happy spending quality time with family especially her ten grandchildren.

Besides her loving husband, Paul, she is survived by four sons and their wives, Brian Berrigan of Pepperell, MA, Gary and Sheila (Riggs) Berrigan of Hudson, NH, Dana Berrigan, Shawn Berrigan both of North Chelmsford, a daughter, Linda and her husband, Mark Drane of Dunstable, two brothers and their wives, Earl and Blanche “Bunny” Guilmette of North Chelmsford, Russell and Pauline Guilmette of Groton, MA, ten cherished grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

BERRIGAN, L. Shirley (Guilmette) Berrigan of N. Chelmsford, MA died May 9, 2008. A private Visiting hour for the family and relatives will be Tues. 8AM at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass where friends are invited to attend Tues. 9AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 115 Middlesex St., N. Chelmsford. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, N. Chelmsford.
