Helen T. (Wojkowski) Connolly, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Thursday May
22, 2008 at the Town & Country Nursing Home in Lowell after a long illness.
She was married to the late George F. Connolly who
died Oct. 31, 1993.
Born in Lowell on April 1, 1918, the daughter of
the late John and Catherine (Ustach) Wojkowski.
A resident of Lowell, she graduated from Lowell
High School with the class of 1936. Over the years she worked at Gagnon's Dept.
Store and at Educator Biscuit Co. in Lowell.
She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in
Lowell, where she was also a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality. She was a
member of the Mt. Pleasant Golf Club in Lowell where she was active in the
Cribbage Club and Bowling League.
She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed
gardening and reading.
She is survived by a son, James O. Connolly of St.
Petersburg, FL; two sisters, Lottie McQuaid of Lowell, and Anne Trainor of Santa
Barbara, CA,; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and dear
friends.
She was the sister of the late Chester Wojkowski,
Henry Wojkowski, John Wojkowski, Sophie Pacula, Jane Myskowski, and Pauline
Bishop.
