Obituary for

Sgt. Craig M. Ducharme

US Army Veteran

 
Craig M. Ducharme, 25, of Chelmsford, MA died Sunday November 1, 2009 unexpectedly while home on leave.

Born in Lowell, MA on January 31, 1984, he was a son of John “Jay” and Christina (Dutney) Ducharme of N.Chelmsford, MA. He was raised in Chelmsford and graduated from Chelmsford High School with the Class of 2002.

Craig joined the US Army in 2006 and was an active member of the 277th Field Artillery (Black Sheep) at Ft. Carson, CO. He received the Purple Heart from service in Iraq and was currently serving in Afghanistan.
 
Prior to joining the service, Craig worked as a Plumber in the Greater Lowell Area. He loved fishing and was a member of the Stonybrook Fish and Game Association. He also enjoyed sports, especially baseball, football and B-Ball.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 437 of Westford.
 
Besides his parents, he is survived his brother, Joseph Leo Paul Ducharme of Alexandria, VA; maternal grandmother, Rose (Rafferty) Dutney of N. Chelmsford; his paternal grandmother, Avis (Marshall) Ducharme of Chelmsford; many many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Leo Paul Ducharme and his maternal grandfather, John Charles Dutney.
