Obituary for

Mary Frances Parlee

of Tyngsboro, MA

  
Mary Frances (Keohane) Parlee, 89, of Tyngsboro, MA died Sunday November 1, 2009 at the Lowell General Hospital.

She was the wife of Edward G. Parlee with whom she celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on September 18th.
   
Born in Lowell on January 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Bessie (Gallagher) Keohane. Mary graduated from the Sacred Heart School and Lowell High School, and was a former member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Lowell, MA.
 
Prior to her marriage, she worked as an assistant office manager at John Hancock Insurance Co. Mary retired in 1987 from the O’Leary Library on the South Campus of the University of Mass at Lowell.

Mary wintered in Highland Beach in Florida and spent her summers with her grandchildren on the lake in Groton, MA.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons and a daughter- in-law, Edward R. Parlee, Mark and Ellen Parlee, and John Parlee all of Tyngsboro and Warren Parlee of Atkinson, NH; four grandchildren, Jill Parlee of Bridgetown, Barbados, Mary Parlee of Manchester, CT, and Anne Parlee and Brian Parlee, both of Tyngsboro, MA.

She was predeceased by her daughter in-law, Laura Parlee who died March 4, 2007.

Mary’s Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday Nov. 4, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Chelmsford, MA. Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
