Helen (Kalivas)
Anderson, 75, of N. Chelmsford, MA died early Sunday morning, October
25, 2009, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long,
courageous battle with cancer.
She was the wife of Raymond H. Anderson, with whom she celebrated their
55th wedding anniversary on May 2, 2009.
Born in Lowell, MA on May 2, 1934, she was the daughter of Greek
immigrants, the late Anthony and Stella (Lazaropoulos) Kalivas. She was
raised in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School with the class
of 1952.
Helen worked as a solderer at Belmont Instrument in Billerica for over
20 years and MCF Industries in Lowell.
She was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in
Andover, and the Church's 49'ers club.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son in-law,
Sheila Anderson-Sweeney and Laurence E. Sweeney, Esq., and her
grandson, Stephen M. Sweeney, of N. Chelmsford; two sisters, Bessie
Nicholson and Pota "Pat" Bernier, both of Chelmsford; two
sisters-in-law, Maria Kalivas (who was more like a sister to Helen),
and Sarah Kalivas, both of Lowell; two godsons, Dr. David Kalivas of
Lowell, and Adam Kepentzis of Shirley; a brother-in-law, John and his
wife Lorraine Anderson of Dracut, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Huard of
Lowell; and many nieces and nephews, among them Michelle St. Pierre of
Nashua, NH, and Michael St. Pierre of Milford, NH. She is also survived
by a close friend Sevasti Kepentzis of Shirley, MA.
Helen was the youngest sister of the late Georgia Chicres, and the late
George, John and Theodore Kalivas, all of Lowell.

Visiting Hours are Tues. from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Wed. 9:30 AM
from the Dolan Funeral Home at 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, with
Services at 11:00 AM at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox
Church, 71 Chandler Rd. Andover, MA 01879. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery,
