Edward G. Quinn,
of Chelmsford, MA died Monday morning, October 19, 2009, at Heritage
Manor Nursing Home in Lowell, where he received excellent care and
compassion.
He was married to the late Lillian P. (Travers) Quinn who died December 29, 2006.
Edward
was born in Lowell, MA on November 1, 1925, the son of the late Henry
G. and Rose (Quinn) Quinn. He attended Keith Academy and
graduated from Newman Preparatory School of Boston, MA with the class
of 1947. He later attended Merrimack College.
A Veteran of
World War II, during the Po Valley and Rome-Arno Campaigns in Italy
with the U.S. Army in the 2093 Eng. Aviation Fire Fighting Platoon.
Edward worked as a Firefighter for the Town of Chelmsford and became Deputy Fire Chief before retiring in 1981 after 26 years.
After
retiring he spent a number of years as a Realtor with Foster and Foster
and Hunneman/Coldwell Banker agencies in Chelmsford. Also he and
his wife enjoyed traveling this country and to Ireland and especially
their many yearly vacations in Bermuda. His other interests
included rose gardening and keeping abreast of local Chelmsford issues.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Chelmsford.
He
is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Deborah and Paul Monteforte
of Tyngsborough, MA; a sister and brother in-law, Ann and Leo Panas of
Chelmsford; two nieces, Vera and her husband Jon Clauson of Chelmsford
and Deidre Panas of NJ; a nephew, Lee Panas of Chelmsford; two grand
nephews, Andrew and Mathew Clauson; a grand niece, Charlotte
Clauson.

hours Wed. 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Thurs. at 8AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL
HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. N.CHELMSFORD, MA 01863 with a funeral Mass at
9AM at St. Mary’s Church, Chelmsford, MA. Burial in St. Patrick
