Gloria (Harrington) Callahan 

of Tyngsboro

 
Gloria M. (Harrington) Callahan, 85, of Tyngsboro, MA formerly of Chelmsford, died unexpectedly September 22, 2009 at the Lowell General Hospital.

Born in Boston, MA on July 25, 1924, she was the daughter of John and Katherine Harrington. She grew up in Brookline, MA and graduated from Brookline High School with the Class of 1942. Gloria earned a Bachelor degree from the Massachusetts College of Arts in Boston.

Gloria worked for the Union National Bank in Tyngsboro for many years before retiring as Manager in 1986. She was an assistant Registrar for the Tyngsboro Town Clerk.

She was a volunteer for the Lowell Association of the Blind and a 44 year member of the Camelot Players of Tyngsboro. She loved the Theater, the Opera, was a gourmet cook and also an avid reader.

She is survived by two daughters and a son in-law, Christine Callahan of Lowell, Mary and Tyler Bell; two sons and one daughter in-law, John Callahan of Woburn, MA, Doug and Karen Callahan of Boise, ID; two grandsons, Daniel Callahan of Boise ID and Nicholas Callahan of Merrimack, NH; and her cousin, Patricia Meyers of Beverly, MA.

FUNERAL NOTICE

CALLAHAN, Gloria (Harrington) Callahan of Tyngsboro, formerly of Chelmsford died September 22, 2009 in Lowell, MA. Visiting hours are Friday 4:00 to 7:00p.m., with a brief Service at 7:00 p.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, MA 01863. Cremation will be at Merrimack Crematory.
