Obituary for

Mr. James "Buddy" H. McBride 

of North Chelmsford, MA

 
Mr. James “Buddy” Henry McBride of North Chelmsford, MA died Tuesday morning, September 8, 2009 at Lowell General Hospital after a courageous battle with a long illness.

He was happily married to Mrs. Elaine A. (Ford) McBride with whom he would have celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary on November 29, 2009.  
 
Born in Billerica, MA on April 10, 1934, the son of the late James H. and Catherine R. (Mullen) McBride.  He was raised and educated in Billerica and attended Billerica Public Schools.

He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was a former Billerica Firefighter and more recently as a Real Estate Developer.

He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church of N. Chelmsford.

He served as the Chelmsford Conservation Commissioner for more than 12 years, and was a member of the Chelmsford Board of Assessors.  Jim was a member of the Lowell Sportsman’s Club; he enjoyed fishing, had a passion for gardening, but was most happy spending quality time with family and friends especially his many grandchildren
.
Besides his wife, Elaine, he is survived by seven sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy McBride of Florida, Johnny McBride of NH, Dickie McBride of NH, Mark and Diane McBride of Nashua, NH, Stephen McBride of Hudson, NH, Danny and Nancy Belkas of Tyngsboro, and John Hardy of Hudson, NH, five daughters and their husbands, Dotty and Chuck Everett of Lowell, MA, Lisa and Joe Sheedy of Pepperell, MA, Coralee Martin, Deborah Bourassa, and Donna and Carl Tomasi all of Chelmsford, MA, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Audrey McBride of Chelmsford, a sister, Brenda Bisson of Lawrence, MA, his mother-in-law, Philomena Ford of Lynn, MA, a brother-in-law, Edward Ford also of Lynn, MA, many grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and close family friends.

McBride, James “Buddy” H. McBride of N. Chelmsford, MA died September 8, 2009. Visiting hours Thursday morning, 9 to 11 a.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Church, N. Chelmsford. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, N. Chelmsford.
