Afrakoma Boadu, 61, of Lowell, MA died Monday, December 10, 2018 in Dracut.
She was married to the late Obiri Yeboah.
Born in Kumasi, Ghana, she was the daughter of the late Mark Boadu of Ghana. Her mother Abena Serwaa still resides in Ghana.
She attended school in Ghana, and came to the Unites States in 2001 and became a citizen 2008, and received her associate degree in nursing.
She was employed with D’ Youville Sr. Care of Lowell as a nurse’s assistant, prior to that she worked at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Lowell and Carlton Willard Nursing Home of Bedford, MA.
She was a member of St John’s the Evangelist Church. She enjoyed working and taking care of people, cooking and being with friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, Kwadwo Yeboah of Lowell and Akwasi Yeboah of Lowell; her daughter Akosua Yeboah and her husband, Clement Atta of Dracut; and granddaughter Charis Atta of Dracut; along with four brothers and three sisters; and many nephews and nieces.
Afrakoma’s visiting hours will be on Saturday January 12, 2018 from 7:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 at St John’s the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. BY DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 978-251-4041.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Afra. Her caring spirit, uplifting personality and compassion for all, especially the residents of A-Wing at D’Youville, positively affected each person she encountered. When my mom entered D’Youville, Afra was the first and one of the few staff members whose name my mom learned and never forgot. My deepest sympathy to Afra’s family and may she Rest In Peace.

I just learned of Afrakoma’s passing. I am so saddened to hear this. Afrakoma cared for my mother for many years and she became like family to my sister and I. We are sorry We missed the calling hours as we would really love to see her family and share our feelings of what a wonderful, loving and kind person she was. She truly loved her children and family. Our hearts are with you.
