Alvin L Hurley Jr

Mr. Alvin “Al” Leo Hurley Jr., 79, of Chelmsford, MA died Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2018 at Palm Center in Chelmsford, MA.

Al was born in Seattle, WA on November 24, 1938; he was the son of the late Alvin L. and Marjorie Hurley.  He was a graduate of St. Thomas Seminary High School in Hartford, CT with the class of 1957, and attended the Don Bosco Seminary College in Newton, NJ. Al graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor degree, and a Master Degree in Social Work from UMass Boston.

He previously worked at Don Bosco Multimedia of New Rochelle, NY.

He was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford, MA, and attended St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in Lowell.  A devout Catholic, Al had a strong faith in God.

He was very giving, and wanted to help everyone.

He is survived by two sisters, Patricia and her husband, William Precobb of Chelmsford and Ann Hurley of Westbrook, ME, and a brother, James Hurley of Secaucus, NJ.

He was the brother of the late Mary Mahoney of Manchester, NH.

At Al’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Fri. Nov. 23^rd at 11AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford, MA. A private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made in his name to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell, 657 Middlesex St, Lowell, MA 01851.
