Edna J. Healy, 89, of N. Chelmsford died at her home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.
Born in Manchester, NH, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Healy. She graduated from Keith Hall with the class of 1945 and from Lowell Commercial College in Lowell.
Edna retired from the Littlefield Insurance Agency of Maynard in 2004 where she worked as an insurance broker.
She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.
Edna was an avid reader and cribbage player. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Lowell Senior Center and the Chelmsford Senior Center.
Edna enjoyed traveling throughout Europe.
She will be missed by her nephews, Michael and his wife, Suzanne Mahoney of Largo, FL and Richard and his wife, Linda Mahoney of N. Chelmsford; grand nephews, Sean and his wife, LeeAnne Mahoney and Timothy Mahoney; grand nieces, Jennifer and her husband, Jeffrey Moore and Rebecca and her husband, Randy Houle; and will be missed by great niece, Stephanie Mahoney and great nephew, Kyle Mahoney.
She was the sister if the late Elizabeth Mahoney of Lowell who died on March 30, 2009.
There are no visiting hours. Funeral Sat. at 8A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. Memorials may be made in her name to the Providence Ministries for the Needy Inc., P.O. Box 6269, Holyoke, MA 01041. Edna was my mother’s best friend growing up. It was amazing that their friendship lasted their entire lives. When my mother (Margie Smith Connell) was sick due to cancer and her passing was eminent, the first person she wanted me to call on her behalf was her good friend Edna. Hopefully they will be reunited once again now. Thinking of Edna’s family with heartfelt sympathy.
