Hoy Kim, 74, of Cranston, RI died Friday February 17, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was married to Sokhon Som with whom she would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in April.
Born in Kampong, Cambodia she was the daughter of the late Samruth Kim and Sambo Neang.
Hoy came to the US in August 1983 and became a citizen in 2007.
She retired from Avid Corp of Lowell, MA.
Hoy was a devout Buddhist and a member of Glory Buddhist Temple in Lowell, MA.
In her spare time Hoy enjoyed fishing, cooking for her family, exploring the outdoors but most importantly she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Vichet Som of Italy, Dara Som and his wife Kia Sreng of Lowell, MA and Phola Som also of Lowell, MA; her two daughters, Chanda Som of Cranston, RI and Betty Som and her husband Sambath Kim of Lowell, MA along with her eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Hoy is predeceased to her five brothers and one sister.
