James “Bud” F. Williams, 91, of Tyngsboro, died Friday, November 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was married to Charlotte M. Tyson with whom he celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on May 21st.
Born in Chicago, IL on April 23, 1927, he was the son of the late Charles and Christine (Carkin) Williams. He attended Groton public schools.
He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during WWII.
In his early years, he worked for May and Hally, and was a volunteer Groton Firefighter. Bud retired from Warren Communications in 1991. In his retirement, he worked at Home Depot, CNC Machine and Market Basket.
He was a member of the Tyngsboro Evangelical Congregational Church, and volunteered for many positions to help the church in any way he could, including The Thrift Shop.
Bud was a life member of the American Legion, and of the Groton VFW Post 6877, serving as Post Commander and District Commander. He also served as the Veterans’ Agent for the town of Groton.
He enjoyed fishing, travelling, and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, James F Williams Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Hollis, NH; a daughter, Cindy Moseley and her husband, Simon of Townsend, MA; four grandchildren, Justin and his wife, Danielle Williams of Groton, Nicholas Williams of Milford, NH, Jennifer Hoyt of Boxboro, MA, and Ryan Moseley of Leominster, MA; three great grandchildren, Haley and Connor Williams, and Cecilia Hoyt; two step children, Tracie and her husband, James McPadden and Terry and his wife, Elisabeth Tyson; and five step grandchildren, Zach, Emily, Nick, Caitlin, and Robert.
He was predeceased by his first wife the late Electa Williams. He was the father of the late Roxanne Williams, and the brother of the late Sharlee Porter and Betty Carkin.
There will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be Sat., Nov 24th at 11AM at the Evangelical Congregational Church of Tyngsboro, 23 Kendall Rd., Tyngsboro, MA 01879. A private burial will be in Groton Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to The Evangelical Congregational Church, P.O. Box 70, Tyngsboro, MA 01879.     Dear Charlotte and family,
    Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to you and yours. We are so sad as we were hoping to get another visit in….our last time together created such wonderful memories, and getting to know Bud during that time was delightful, making us feel like we knew him forever.
