Joyce D. (Foster) O’Malley, 85, of Westford, formerly of Fort Myers, FL, passed away in her home on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018. Joyce was the loving wife of the late Robert J O’Malley, who died in April of 2003. Born in Lowell, she was the first child of the late Robert and Beverly (Perry) Foster, and graduated from Winchester High School in 1950. Her 53-year marriage to Bob saw her live around the country as a Navy wife, then settle in Westford to see her children through high school, start a new adventure in Florida, and finally return to Westford in 2003.
Joyce loved cooking, baking, politics, and shopping. She was especially well known for her love, compassion, and devotion to her family, her church family, and her many friends.
Joyce is survived by her four children; son Robert, and his wife Cheryl, of Littleton, daughter Cheryl, and her husband Robert Ross, of Westford, daughter Carol, and her husband Paul McNally, of Charlestown, and son Bruce, of Westford. She is further survived by her five grandchildren, Robert O’Malley III, Christine (O’Malley) Edwards, Brittany (O’Malley) Wheaton, Bruce O’Malley and Kristin McNally, as well as her great granddaughter, Aubrey Lee Wheaton.
Joyce is also survived by her sisters, Carol and husband Harold Wheaton, and Betty and husband David Regan. And she is pre-deceased by her brother Robert and his wife Patricia, of San Diego, CA. Finally, Joyce is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law Eileen and Maryanne.
In the spirit of honoring Joyce, there will be a Celebration of Life service at Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex Street, Chelmsford on Saturday, January 13th. Visiting hours begin at 10am, with a Memorial Service at 11am.

Bobby and Cheryl, Cheryl and Ross , carol and Paul and Bruce. I am so sad about aunt Joyce,s passing. I know how sad this is. I don’t know it just seem that they all gone. Hopefully they all having s great time again. Out of pain and just happy. I remember so much about all our family get together and how much fun we had. Aunt Joyce was always very kind to me. I am so Bery sad and sorry. Ill see you on Saturday. Love lynda

Joyce you will be so missed. I have all of those gorgeous ornaments that you gave out and they light up our home. Every time I turn it on, I remember the light of hope that you brought to all of us at Newsong Church. I will always remember how many shoes you had and all the gorgeous jewelry you wore. You always looked like a million dollars! When you decided you had too many shoes, you gave me your shoes and that was so special. Now you are walking in those high heels again and dancing with the Lord. I will always remember you.

Oh my dear friend whom I will miss enormously!!!! What a lover of Jesus you were … that love you had for Him carried through the entire Church … you even chose to love a carwash guy like me !!!!! I will miss the many talks we had and the way you’d always grab my face for a kiss on the cheek followed by your little laugh …. you treated me as one of your kids….thank you for being such an important part of my personal walk with Christ and of our little church NewSong …. although I will miss you dearly , I’m so glad you’re home with Jesus no longer suffering .. how much I enjoyed talking with you about the glorified body you would eventually have that will never get sick and never fail you because you trusted in the promise of Jesus … I know yours was tired but even still you kept loving us !!!! Your example of how to live as a believer in the Lord will forever speak to me !!! Goodbye for now dear friend but I’ll be seeing you one day soon and we’ll eat those awesome butterscotch cheese cake squares of yours together and then they’ll literally taste heavenly as they always did !!!

I will always remember my friend, Joyce, from Bible Study, and smile when I think of all the laughs we shared together. Joyce was truly an amazing and unique individual, and I was quite blessed to have known her. Joyce was one of a kind. She had such an incredible ability to make others feel special and important. Joyce had a friendly nature and personality that always made others feel truly welcome, and with such great enthusiasm. Joyce had a special gift in that she would always show unconditional love for her friends and family. Not only was Joyce the most fashionable, and stylish lady I’ve ever encountered in my travels so far, but, she also had a superior sense of humor. Joyce was a light in the lives of anyone who knew her, and I will always remember her with great admiration. I will treasure the time we shared together. I know I will see her again one day in the kingdom of heaven. And, when I do, I look forward to giving her a great big hug. I know Joyce is safe with Jesus now. She will be greatly missed, and it’s very, very difficult to say goodbye. Love you, Joyce… Forever and always. Annie
