Mrs. Pamela Purpura, 70, of South Chelmsford, MA died Friday afternoon, November 23, 2018 at her home after a long illness surrounded by her family.
She was married to the late James Purpura who died September 26, 1991.
Pamela was the daughter of the late Roy and Charlotte Scherig. She was a graduate of Chelmsford High School with the class of 1966.
She retired earlier this year from Linear Technologies/ Analog Devices, and previously worked at Parexel of Lowell, MA and RCA of Burlington.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford, MA.
She loved animals especially cats, and volunteered at the Lowell Humane Society. Pamela enjoyed ballroom dancing, ice skating, and making ceramics. She was an avid seamstress; making her own clothes.
Pamela is survived her two daughters Trisha Purpura of Ionia, MI and Kelly Purpura of Chelmsford; a sister, Linda and her husband, Randall Helweg of Pelham, NH; two brothers, Kenneth and his wife, Elly Scherig of Methuen, MA and Paul Scherig of Sun City Center, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Karen Scherig who died May 1, 1973.
A special thank you to her care giver, Annie Pokumensah for her loving care and support provided to “Mrs. Pam”.

I am so sad to hear about Pam. We worked together for many years and we had a lot of good times. She will be missed by us all. I recently moved to FL so cannot be there but please know I am thinking of you. My heartfelt condolences to Kelly and Trisha, it is so hard to lose your Mom.

Dear Kelly & Trisha
I am So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. All the years we worked together we shared many happy times, all the fond memories I have of Pam will stay close to my heart.
