Peter Gabriel Sicurella, 86, formerly of West Newton, MA and later North Chelmsford, MA passed away Friday December 22, 2017 surrounded by family.
Peter was born May 30, 1931 in Lawrence, MA to the late Anthony and Mary Sicurella who immigrated from Sicily Italy. Peter attended Catholic School in Lawrence, MA graduating in 1949 and Boston University graduating in 1953 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and as a ROTC graduate. Peter then became a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force stationed in Valdosta, GA and worked with some of the first generation main frame computer systems.
After serving his country, Peter continued to utilize his extensive knowledge of computer systems and applied these skills selling and supporting the very first personal computers as a self-employed salesman with Safeguard Business Systems. In this role he earned many sales awards and company recognition. Peter then used his entrepreneurial spirt to form DataSys Corporation and spent the majority of his career selling accounting software and providing support for personal computer systems and networks for businesses. Once he was ready to retire he sold the company to his daughter Jean who advanced the offerings of the company and finally sold it, providing Peter with much pride. DataSys Corporation is still in existence today.
Peter had many hobbies and loved sailing his 32′ Endeavour sailboat, Crosswind, (moored in Onset Harbor, MA) with his wonderful first mate Marilyn. He enjoyed hand making Sicilian meatballs, sausages and spending time with family and friends. Peter could make anyone laugh with his endless jokes and stories and was loved by all who met him. Together, Peter (and Marilyn) especially enjoyed their friendships and community at Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA.
Peter was the loving husband of 54 years to Marilyn Cuneo Sicurella. Loving father to Tony and wife Leslie of Nashua, NH, Jean Sicurella and husband David Upton of Arlington, MA and John Kenneth and fiancée Kimberly Ann Turcotte Norris of Auburn, MA. Grandfather to Cristie Kiley of Fort Bragg, CA, Danielle and Shane Sicurella of Nashua, NH, Antonio Xelhua, Victoria, Olivia, Everett and Ella Upton of Arlington, MA and Gabriel and Donato Sicurella of Upton and Auburn, MA. Uncle to Dennis Grant of Hollywood, SC, Dennis Shank of Lawrence, MA and the late Debbie Grant of Pelham, NH, Luis Wheat of W. Roxbury, MA and David Shank of Lawrence, MA. Loving brother to the late Mary Shank and Gabriel Sicurella of Lawrence, MA.
A celebration of Peter’s life will be at 3pm, Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA. Visit Peter’s Guest book at www.dolanfuneralhome.com. ARRANGEMENTS by the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, MA 978-251-4041.

Dear Marilyn, I am deeply saddened by the news of your husband’s passing. Anyone who shares a lifetime with you must be as wonderful as you. I didn’t get to meet Peter, but would have loved to do so. May the Lord bless you and your family with comfort on the days to come.
Love, Virginia

Marilyn – you and Peter have been in my heart and in my thoughts for so long now through his illness. I am deeply saddened by his passing but we take comfort in knowing as you said, He is in Heaven making sausages with God.I think of you both every time I walk the dogs or drive past Warwick Ave and will do so the rest of my time here on Waltham Street.
