Sopheak Thay of Lowell, age 61, died Monday August 12, 2019 suddenly at his home.
Born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, he was the son of the late Khew Somloth and Marklin Uy. He graduated from Jewpunear Hok High School with the class of 1975.
He came to the USA in 1982.
He was active at the Trairatanaram Buddhist Temple and the Wat Khmer Samaki Santikaram in Chelmsford, Glory Temple in Lowell, and many other local temples.
Sopheak enjoyed cooking. He was an avid musician playing bass guitar solo and keyboard.
He is survived by his brother Dona Mem of California and a sister that lives in France.
Visiting hours Friday at 3 P.M. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, and continue after 4 P.M at the Glory Buddhist Temple in Lowell.
