Doris R. (Strain) McCauley of Lowell

Doris R. (Strain) McCauley, 90, a long time resident of Lowell, MA died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell.

She was married to the late Robert McCauley, who died in December of 1972.

Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Strain.

Doris worked as a technician for Raytheon of Bedford, South Lowell and Andover for 32 years before retiring in 1989.

She was a communicant of St. Margaret Church in Lowell.

Doris was an avid reader. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Robert and his wife, Nancy McCauley of Dracut and Kevin and his wife, Lani McCauley of Tyngsboro; two daughters, Kathleen McCauley of Lowell and Linda and her husband, Timothy Carpenter of Lowell; a brother, Thomas Strain of Southborough, MA; a sister, Mary Brennen of Enfield, CT; a sister-in-law, Margo Strain of Ashland, MA; six grandchildren, Carin and her husband, John Marshall, Robert McCauley, Michael McCauley, Kevin McCauley Jr., Adam and his wife, Sandy McCauley and Sarah and her husband, Jean Bortolatto; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Paul Strain of Ashland, MA.

Visiting hours Tues. 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral Wed. at 8:30A.M. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME 106 MIDDLESEX ST. CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9:30A.M. at St. Margaret Church in Lowell.
