Keo Sinath, passed peacefully at her home on Monday, February 14th, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on a farm to the late Doung Keo and Chin Sinath, being one of five children. By the age of 10 she lost both of her parents but later met her beloved late husband Som Keo.

From her birth to her death, she has always nourished the people around her with love, faith, kindness and especially her authentic Khmer dishes. She embraced her role as a family caretaker and enjoyed close relationships with children and grandchildren. When it came to gatherings there was no such thing as a small family gathering. The house was always full with family, laughter and love.

Before her transition to a new life in the U.S. in 1984, Sinath was a former master chef where she specialized in Khmer traditional desserts but was also known for her intricate hands. When it came to injuries, she would heal them with her Khmer regimen. When anyone wanted to eat “nom som”, which takes a whole day to make, she would go out of her way to make it. She was everybody’s go to person when it comes to sweet cravings.

Sinath was a loyal member of the Buddhist Community. She was one of the first members with Venerable Sao Khon Dhamthero, whom helped build the Trairatanaram Temple of Chelmsford in 1985. Her continuous religious work has stretched to the establishment of Vatt Khmer and as far as Watt Cher Thel Kos Ondeth at Khat Prey Veng in Cambodia. She has contributed countless of donations towards the temple and also the community of Lowell. She respected everyone’s beliefs alike.

Sinath is a devoted mother to her surviving children, Mr. Keo Wat, Mrs. Keo Sina, Mrs. Keo Suviak, Mr. Keo Sivang, Mrs. Keo Helene, and Mrs. Hoeun Dyan. She was a guiding light to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
